La Verne is a city in Los Angeles County, California, United States. The population was 31,638 at the 2000 census
Located at 34°6′52″N 117°46′17″W / 34.11444°N 117.77139°W / 34.11444; -117.77139 (34.114361, -117.771348), La Verne is a suburb 30 miles (48 km) east of Los Angeles. It lies on the northwest edge of the Pomona valley at the foothills of the San Gabriel Mountains. According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 21.8 km² (8.4 mi²). 21.5 km² (8.3 mi²) of it is land and 0.3 km² (0.1 mi²) of it (1.19%) is water.
